On board video card failure-Replacing with Radeon low profile x1650 in HP Slimline?

Installation was a breeze-Perfect fit. Power things up & nothing. Now I read I may need a separate power cable to new card. Where is this power source coming from? There is an unused 3 prong plug on card. Can't load drivers until I get some signal to monitor. Any help appreciated to this obvious novice. Just trying to get wife's pc going so she leaves mine alone. BTW HP Slimline s3020n. Thanks|||Does your power supply have available plugs? Take your card to a local computer store and ask for an adapter that will convert the power connector from your power supply. Also make sure you disable you on-board video in your bios.|||The power comes from your power supply, usually the graphics card will come with an adapter to change from the larger pins on the PSU to the smaller pins on the graphics card. For some strange reason, apparently not all graphics cards come with said adapter and you have to go out and purchase it separately although it shouldn't cost more than like $7.

Alternatively, you may not need the power adapter and it could just be that you have to tell the BIOS that you want to use the new graphics card instead of the onboard card
