I want to add an video card that has HDMI, there is the stock video card.. I have no idea what kind of video card i need to buy.....as far as should be a lo profile etc....just link a card that will work with my pc and the gods will bless you(if there are any). no but really thanks for your help.|||desktops vary so much from one to the other on which components are installed so you could have only PCI, or PCI with an AGP slot for the graphics or PCI with a PCI-E slot for the graphics.
for a card with HDMI i think you will need to have a PCI-E slot ( newer models have these ).
also, age of the PC will determine card choice.....cheaper or older PC's will have less ram than newer ones so sticking a top of the range graphics card in will see little improvement.
basically, you need to find out exactly what is inside your machine now and with this info you will get much better advice.|||Your best bets are the Radeon HD 5450 (low profile, low power, will fit in any PC with a PCI Express x16 expansion slot) for video watching and very light gaming.
Some slimline PCs can also take a low profile version of the Radeon HD 5570 (43W TDP) but more information about the power supply and components already in use is needed to make that call. The 5570 will allow slightly more gaming (e.g. WoW) at semi-reasonable speeds. It's not a fantastic or high end gaming card by any means.
You can usually get more information about HP and Compaq computers here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/siteH…
EDIT:
"mcp61" sounds like a motherboard model number, not the HP model number. If the power supply in there is < 250W, you had best stick with the low end Radeon HD 5450: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…|||It depends on your motherboard and I don't know what that is without the model of your desktop, do some research on your desktop and email me if you find out.
