So can anyone help me out? Any recommendations or instructions on which graphics card to pick along with what level of power supplies I need to upgrade to (if necessary)?

I need at least 1080p resolution support with graphics power to handle "modern" gaming.|||I'm sorry to say this, but there is NO WAY that you can put in a better graphic card with that power supply.

As for your current GT220 they recommend a minimum of 300W.

You need to change your PSU to 500Watt as a minimum to be able to run the more powerful gaming graphic cards on the market.

Depending on your budget, GTS 250 and GTS 260 handles most games in full HD.

If you have a BIG budget why not go for the GTX 285.

You can also check out this chart to decide what card is the best for you.

Here you can compare how they perform and compare prices.
