What video card will work?
i am looking to upgrade my video card, but it is very narrow because my psu is only 300W max and i have a slimline HP so i need smaller video card, what are some good video cards that i can get for what i have, i need something that i or you know will work. i play world of warcraft and i think my video card is holding me back cause i got a 2.8Ghz AMD Athlon X2 cpu and 4gb of RAM. any help would be awesome, thanks.|||Below is a link to some of the most powerful cards that fit in a slimline/low profile case. They don't require an extra PCI-E power cable, as they get all their power off the PCI-E buss. They only take up one slot, but are a tiny bit wider than normal.
Can i run a 64 bit video card in a 32 bit computer?
i have a hp slimline desktop and want to update the video card. the ati video card is 64 bit and my computer is a 32bit. is this a issue?|||I think you might be confused.
The video card driver is either 32-bit or 64-bit. Just download the 32-bit version if your OS is 32-bit and it'll work.
As long as the card fits inside the case, the motherboard has a slot for it, the power supply is powerful enough, and there is a compatible driver for your OS, then the card will work.

I need to find a new graphic card for my HP Pavilion Slimline?
So I have been waiting for the video game diablo 3 for many years now and its coming out quite soon, but I need a graphic card upgrade for my slimline. What would be the best graphic card out there for a slimline...
*It cant cost 10 000 000$...|||see the system requirements for diablo iii here:
http://www.gameshampoo.com/forums/thread…|||Lol, I have been waiting for that game forever, they keep saying that its coming and then its not...
Hopefully before the end of the world,
OK we have 2 FLAVORS, ATI or NVIDIA,
NVIDIA seems to have more support in games now days, I do a lot of performance graphics, so don't get hung up on highest FIRST NUMBER, for example GEFORCE 570 verse 470 they are very similar accept 470 costs less, try to more band for your buck, 470GTX will get you a 7.9 rating in windows 7, that's out of 8, which makes it pretty good, you can go for 480 and up, but remember price increases a lot also,
470GTX is lets say around $200, the higher you go....like 480GTX 1.5gig ram ddr5 - $230
keep increasing number if your budget allows, hey why not, if your budget is lower may not be as good fun but 450GTX lower performance around 110.
one more thing, cases done cost much maybe 30-50 for example...move your hardware into a bigger case, video cards like this will not fit inside a slimline case.
hope it help...don't hold your breath for diablo3, i'm waiting too, and i hope i'm alive to finally see it come.|||Well for a slimline case you aren't going to have that many choices, so you won't have to worry about breaking the bank... What you are going to look for is "low profile cards"... They are going to be weaker, and really not that great for gaming, but you will have to deal, or spend the money on a computer case and PSU along with a better card...

Can you install a regular sized video card into a slimline PC?
I have a slimline Gateway 2800 with a 300W power supply and a small-form-factor video card right now. If I simply left of the side of the computer, could I run a more powerful video card? I also suspect I'd have to somehow get a new power supply sitting somewhere else as well.|||They make replacement slimline cards, they just have an interchangeable bracket. Don't expect to get a high end gaming card, but there are a few options. You most likely will be OK with your 300W PSU on these types of cards.|||No, the card simply will not fit in the slimline formfactor case|||You may or may not have to bend the bracket in order for the card to slide fully into place... so it might fit, but that approach isn't recommended.
Replacing the bracket allows a slimline card fit into a standard PC but not the other way around, because the card is physically too tall.
Leaving the case open might be necessary anyway because slimlines are notorious for overheating- the cramped interior of the cases doesn't allow for good airflow and cooling, which becomes more important when the additional heat from a standalone video card is added to to the equation.
Transplanting all of the guts (motherboard, drives etc) into a standard ATX case would allow you to run any standard-sized card you want.
That would also make power supply upgrades easier because for most slimlines, the psu is proprietary. For some models 3rd-party replacements exist, but the are 2-3 times the price of regular ATX psus, and frequently still low-wattage.
The easiest solution is to just get a low-profile Radeon 5570. That's typically the best a slimline can take.

Video Card for Dell Xps 210 Slimline?
I have a Dell Xps 210 Slimline. And looking to upgrade to the best video card that will run with it.
Specs:
Processor: Intel® CoreTM 2 Duo Processor E6700 (4MB L2 Cache,2.66GHz,1066)
RAM: Dual-Channel DDR2 SDRAM (533MHz,4GB)
Power Supply: 275 watt
Now the only one i am seeing recommended is the Radeon HD 2400 Pro 256mb But that was around august of 2008. And i am hoping to find something a bit more up to date if possible.
Price is not a factor.
Thanks =)|||The one thing I am noticing is your 275W PSU. So unless you upgrade that (and I hear that Dells are picky with PSUs), you will be very limited on what you can get.
I believe you may be able to push for an HD4670 (they take virtually no power to run) so see if you can get that. It should also fit fine in your case.
I hope this helps!

Can i upgrade the video card in my HP slimline?
my comp is the s3200t. my current card is the Nvidia 8500 gt. i want to replace it with something stronger, probably the 8600 or the 8800. can i do that? if i can, what cards are compatible. i know that it has to be a low profile card, but i don't know what it looks like. can u guys gimme websites with those cards so i can look for them?|||You will never install an NVIDIA 8800 due to power limitations, plus I do not think there is an 8800 low profile.
You probably can use the 8600GT listed below.
I always advise against buying a slim style computer because your upgrade options are so limited.
Per HP: Upgrading and Servicing Guide (Page 20)
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00…
IMPORTANT: Due to the small computer size, you can only install a small, low-profile PCI-E card of the same approximate size of the graphics card. HP recommends that you install a card with power consumption of 25 watts or less.
Not all low-profile cards will fit into the PCI-E slot. Some external connectors, especially connectors located at the top of the card, may not fit properly into the back panel.
That 25 watt or less requirement rules out most high performance video cards.
Further I believe it has a 180 watt power supply; many high end video cards require at least a 400 watt power supply.

According to the new box just released, the PSU is now 180watts. Anybody else feeling tempted to burn that extra 20w? The s3200t is the box I refer to.

The one posted before is for a 8600 GT low profile. This one is for the 8500 GT low profile and it is in stock. The 8600GT consumes 30 watts. The 8500GT consumes 40 watts. Since HP sells the 8400GT and the 8500GT (with the 3200 series), the 8600GT ought to work just fine.

Better Video card Hp Slimline?
Is there a better video card i can put into a hp slimline? A regular card wont work because its to big, and i cant run any games with the one i have|||Look for the words "low profile" while you're searching. It's their term for smaller cards. But I am not sure even those would fit. I almost bought the slimline, til I saw somewhere that it's almost un-upgradeable.
